Fascinating sound of choire - The visitors of the concert of the Christophorus Kantorei Altensteig in St. Michael were able to hear a sound of choir fluent between excitement and meditation. In Heinrich Schütz' "Die Himmel erzählen die Ehre Gottes", the choir showed the polyphone structure of this work. Increases in the music were worked out convincingly; the singers reported the choir sentence made blossom wonderfully ... with gripping dramatic clay "Warum toben die Heiden" before but as well with a sense of contemplative moments with conciliatory gestures. Solo sections captivated by a safe lecture ....

An extremly homgeneous choral music - A changing list provides unusual impressions. The large variation breadth of the program showed that the choir interprets many styles excellently. The high effort with individual voice production as well as the homogeneity of the education at the Christophorus music high school caused an exceptionally homogeneous sound of the Kantorei which already won many prices. Their leader Nonnenmann gave exactly the cues for the different voices. He directed clear and sensitive, not distant but like grown together with the choir.

Intensive brightness of the chants - Impressive Johannes passion in the fully occupied town church...Michael Nonnenmann worked out a compact and in everyone share a coherent complete version of Bach's passion. The Kantorei seemed alive, impulsive and sonorous in all parts. The crystal-clear soprano was very good and beautifull in the top tones. The firm man's voices gave a most acceptable choir foundation approximately in fresh joint uses. The choir "Lasset uns den nicht zerteilen" was a classic example at musical exactness and thorough declamatory education...

Like an instrument having been correct fine. The Christophorus-Kantorei of Altensteig sang in the Liebfrauenkirche. About seventy visitors experienced an enchanting concert in the Liebfrauenkirche on Friday evening. Of the demanding paying attention coherent motet up to the quick spiritual - the fifty youthful song talents demonstrated the whole frequency range of her knowledge and offered the audience choral music par excellence for one and a half hours. At the motet "Warum toben die Heiden" of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy the choirmaster Michael Nonnenmann seemed to play on his ensemble like on an instrument having been correct fine. The enthusiastic applause of the visitors increased from song lecture to song lecture.
Witzenhäuser Allgemeine 02.06.03

Audience enchanted with a noble sound - Full of jubilation the Kantorei opened he concert with the four- till eight voices motet "JauchzetdemHerrn, alle Welt" of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and immediately showed an excellent compactness and homogeneity of the choir sound. One noticed this for it considerably at the two first parts of the mass of Frank Martin "Kyrie" and "Gloria" which the presentation the Kantorei made to a highlight of the concert. Frequently changing rhythms, harmonic variety and syllabic flexibility put to singers considerable intonation claims, which left none wish open ... the motets were sung by the members of the Kantorei with enormous concentration, discipline and engagement... All listeners were charmed by the youthful women and man's thin voices with falsetto. Improved sound. This has to be ascribed to the youth certainly of the freshness. The voice production is, however, just as important, which was in good hands ... for certain at Eberhard Schuler- Meybier but is the overwhelming impression which the concert among all visitors has left to owe to the Dirigat of Michae Nonnenmann.
Friedberger Zeitung 14.06.03

A maximum amount of a vocal maturity... Th 14 till 19-year boys and girls undt the management of Michael Nonnenmann presented themselves f as a chamber choir of first range. The choir mastered souvereign all dynamic forms of expression, as in "Eli, Eli" of György Bárdos and in "Kyrie und Gloria" out of mass for 2- to 4-part choirs of Frank Martin. Mendelssohns 6-part motet "Herr, nun lässest du deinen Diener in Frieden fahren" as "Denn er hat seinen Engeln befohlen" formed finally the crowning completion of the choir concert. Into this the Altensteiger Kantorei confirmed its special design competence and special position in singing again.

Youth chor of the Christophorus Kantorei inspires in the St.George church by fresh musical singing... It's versatility profed the choir with the to a large extent by haeart spoken, varied programm...The evening started with clean clear voices, mostly extremely precise and great attention with three four till eight parts motets of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Especally remarkable was here the motet "Warum toben die Heiden" for solos and two four-part choirs.
Choirmaster Michael Nonnenmann had the two choirs well in the handle and directed them with precise gestures known around all rhythmical and musical cliffs.
Passion and drama, hope and longing were effective impressively by subtly differentiated dynamics and rhythmically accented song. The youthful singers showed great delight in the singing primarily at the final gospel songs.Wild rhythms and harmonies in jazz manner were presented with obvious fun in presenting the songs .

Profoundly respect given to the inner strength of the music - Altensteiger Christophorus Kantorei sets standards with the performance of the Brahms requiem in Nagold... The man and his emotions in view of the death - hardly an area requires as much sensibility as this. And exactly this prerequisite for the performance of this work put the Altensteiger Christophorus Kantorei under the management of Michael Nonnenmann in the Nagolder town church to the day. With much sensitivity an nearly sleepwalkingly technical certainty the choir, the orchestra and soloists ventured into the heart of the text music relation without hurting these in by exaggerated emotionality. It almost was so as if the musicians pretended to be only and alone in the service of this deeply philanthropic music and wanted to step down behind this themselves. Also the both soloists of the evening - whether this was the bright soprano of Jeannette Bühler or the warm baritone of Eberhard Schuler Meybier. The orchstra "collegium instrumentale" completed the profound interpretation with its warm gentle ground shade excellently. Body of sound: An expression often heard, but rare understood. In this evening the musicians under the management of Michael Nonnenmann created a synthesis of the arts, an acoustic orchestra like that one of the "painted spring" of Sandro Botticelli. Beguiling beautiful, fully inner radiation and great dignity.

A Christmas concert of the special manner - It was a pure joy to listen to the choir. A cappella, without company her pure song took effect wonderfully particularly in parts with high notes and tones. So different songs, so various was the mode of expression of the choir. So, many well-known German Christmas carols could be experienced completely newly again. Added were carols from from Ireland, Spain and Poland. After the common sung "O du fröhliche" and long lasting applause the choir sang into the bargain "He came from of The glorious kingdom" and one - for our ears resounding rather strange - Christmas carol from Haiti.
The young singers shone and had their joy skipped also on to the audience. Actual a Christmas concert of the special manner.

Young people push to the consciousness - The Altensteiger Christophorus Kantorei offers an impressive concert in the Haiterbacher Laurentiuskirche. Technically and chorally very precisely the young people blew up the bonds of their apparently shy restraint with a fascinating sound picture of "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen". They broke the vocally and spatially limits open and astonished with unusual, demanding choir sentences with sonorous experiments and heavy dialogs. A really unusual concert to the 4th Advent.

"We are were a quite normal school choir, something like that would be possible at every school", Eberhard Schuler Meybier, voice educator of the choir, told us after the concert. "But only with with a good voice education for the singers", he added. And that's it, what makes this choir so unique. Together with an extraordinary engagement of choirmaster Michael Nonnenmann, who seems to have a special wire to his young singers and singers. The technical knowledge of the choir is impressive. In the concert Nonnenmann led his pupils to the bounds of the feasible but the articulation nevertheless remains clear the rhythm perfect.

A so beautiful and festive run through the season of Advent can hardly be experienced elsewhere in a concert of the Christophorus church Kantorei of Altensteig. Choirmaster Michael Nonnenmann had designed the songs versatile together with the choir and the organist.
The singers had to appear, again and again in new formations changing their locations from the middle part of in the church the sides or the organ galleries. So each of the songs became a musical gem taken gratefully.
It was as quiet as a mouse in the church and all music-lovers could hold back to the end of the concert themselves to express enthusiasm loudly about the heard.
The singers, the conductor and the organist then got the well-deserved standig ovations.

The choir coped with its enormous quota dedicatedly and professionally and was prepared well although the work demanded the outermost from it... Motets sung most nobly. How can one make impossible possible? By intellectual energy and determined staying power. There was the Christophorus Kantorei of Altensteig in the town church with over 40 singers on the Saturday evening. And what is there special? It is a high school choir from a town with 5000 inhabitants. The choir had bell-like voices and an atonshingly intonation safety. This voice culture is the contribution of the voice educator Eberhard Schuler Meybier who gives individual lessons to the pupils and bring also bluebottles to the singing. And with Michael Nonnenmann, the Kantorei owns a leader which designs music impressive with this voice material.
Gränzbote Tuttlingen 26.03.2001

Kantorei turns with captivating sound beauty. The Christophorus Kantorei of Altensteig already has a good reputation from their founder. Michael Nonnenmann continues the gleam of this tradition. Unbelievably beatuful sounds he conjured out of the choir with 40 singers. For example in the psalm of Mendelssohn-Bartholdy he builds up up a drama as it is hardly credible from such young throats. The voice educator Eberhard Schuler Meybier cares about the sound quality in individual lessons for all singers and so this high school choir gets its fascinating sound beauty. The town church could have held more audience for this pleasant experience on the Saturday evening. Nobody will forget this concert so fast again.

Romantic Christmas concert was choosen as title. The concert led the few audience into a world of music in which the description of human feelings, actual happenings and impressions from nature, which touched man immediately, get in a relation to each other. Learning this profound, indicating and partial mystically has realized Max Bruch in a music language, which knows how to use the whole frequency range to tone colors of an orchestra, the string player and windplayer takes into account similarly, its respective characteristics knows and uses just like the tonal fortune of a choir which is well trained. Friday evening both pleased very well: the young singers of the Christophorus Kantorei, with their clear diction, the excellent intonation and the organic way in which they obey the dirgate of Michael Nonnenmann.
Just at the Beginning, they fulfilled the "Rorate Coeli" with their powerful sound volume, worked out clear forms of the verses and an intensive colorfulness of the sounds. Their precision is wonderful. They have reached an intonational purity degree as if everybody would have a absolute pitch. And their sound is so rich and slim, so fine and mobile,so fresh and full of the common breathing, that one cannot hear enough of it. That the voice educator of the choir, Eberhard Schuler-Meybier, did a good job, could also be seen in the fact, that the young musicians managed to stand apparently effortlessly bell-like height as well as warm and sure intonation until the end of the concert

Brilliant choir sound from young throats - Bach's Christmas oratorio with the Christophorus Kantorei Altensteig in Gönningen... Choral music, as one him himself dreams... One experienced the whole sound splendor in the six-voiced motet 'Die Himmel erzählen die Ehre Gottes' of Heinrich Schütz. And after this, the immensely expressive five-voiced motet "Herr, lass meine Klage" of Johann Hermann Schein, who is a great contemporary of Heinirch Schütz... Yes, these young high school students are also able to express the depth of pain, such as for example in the composition Rudolf Mauersberger "Wie liegt die Stadt so wüst... " One had to raise his imaginary hat to the conductor and the voice educator of the choir. They granted us choral music in ideal manner.
